some folk music from Grim

Hello all. If you do not know, one of my very best friends (known ’round these parts as the Grim Writer) has a wonderful blog where she talks all things writing, folk music, life, death, and the intersection of the four. If you haven’t checked it out, you should do so.

She’s always recommending folk music there. And since I have discovered most of my favorite folk music from her (mostly via personal correspondence but also her blog), there is really no excuse for the fact that I… have never really listened to most of the things she links on her blog. Except that it’s mostly YouTube, and I don’t usually listen to music on YouTube.

So, to solve this problem, I made a Spotify playlist of all the songs she’s mentioned on her blog thus far (minus a couple that don’t exist on that platform). It took… an impressively long time. Grim is wise and knowledgeable and knows a lot of songs.

Behold:

You should all go listen to it and marvel at the breadth and quality of her knowledge. I’m off to do the same.

I might be back with a musing on April (yes, April, even though it’s November) or something about the books I’ve been reading lately, or something about 1917 because it’s a masterpiece, but for now —

Joy be to you all.
