Cathedral book launch!

Hello, friends. I hope some of you are still here — this blog has been sadly neglected lately. I miss it, but I am enjoying living on my beautiful college campus, and (of course) there are always essays to be written and tests to study for.

I’m just popping in to let you know that my poetry book is officially launching on December 11!

That is not a typo… Cathedral is coming your way in less than a month.

If you’ve been around for a while, you know what Cathedral is already — in which case, may I recommend some handy buttons to you:

If you’re newer here and you have have no idea what Cathedral is, allow me to enlighten you.

Firstly, my book is not:

• a book about cathedrals
• a literal cathedral
• a story about a particular cathedral
• a collection of poetry about cathedrals
• pretty much anything to do with an actual cathedral

There is a cathedral mentioned in the book (once. ish.). And there is a very good reason for it to be called Cathedral. You’ll have to read it to find out.

Cathedral is:

• a collection of poetry (and short creative prose)
• composed of pieces written in a period spanning 2016 to August 2021 (some of them can be found on this very blog!)
• a chronicle of a journey through grief and sorrow into life and joy (one that is still ongoing in my life)
• a call to create courageously
• heavily inspired by Andrew Peterson, N.D. Wilson, S.D. Smith and Anne Elisabeth Stengl (among others)
• about 6k words long

And even if no one buys my book, I will get to hold it in my hands and say, “I wrote that.” Which is pretty amazing.
